Easy Spring Cleaning Tips to Freshen Up Your Kids’ Rooms

Here are some spring cleaning tips for kids rooms to get them in tip-top shape.
Spring Cleaning Tips for Kids Rooms
Wash all the bedding
Remove all the linens from the bed and throw them in the washing machine, including the comforter and pillowcases. You can even take it an extra step and wash the pillows themselves. While the bedding is in the wash, vacuum the mattress and the headboard (if it’s a fabric one) and clean underneath the bed.
Wipe down the walls, doors, and baseboards
A lot of dust and grime gathers on baseboards, so this is a great time to clean them up. Dust them first, then wipe them down with soap and water or a cleaning solution. If there are a lot of scuffs leftover, freshen them up with a coat of paint. Doors also tend to collect a lot of dust and marks, so wash them, as well, and then touch up any areas that need it. Lastly, check the walls for similar marks and clean them as needed.
Declutter
Kids quickly grow out of things, especially their toys and clothes. Go through everything with them to decide what they would like to keep and what they can get rid of. While they may initially want to hold on to everything, let them know that what they get rid of can be replaced with something new for them to get excited about. As for clothes, part with anything that no longer fits or doesn’t look its best anymore. Donate or recycle whatever you don’t keep.
Spruce up the storage
Take stock of the storage in your child’s room. Are there any ways you can improve it to make the space more organized and functional? Baskets and storage boxes are great for kids’ spaces to hold toys, accessories, school supplies, and other small items. They look great on shelves and are easy for your kids to use when putting away their stuff at the end of the day.
Update the décor
Kids grow up fast, meaning their tastes change on a regular basis. Is there any part of the décor in their room that they’ve grown out of? Simple things like a different comforter, some new art on the walls, or even just a fresh coat of paint can make a world of difference. Your child will feel like they have an entirely new space with just a few simple changes.
