How to Boost “Curbside Appeal” This Fall

When it comes to staging your home, creating powerful curbside appeal is one of the most important things you can do. This refers to the experience prospective buyers will have as they drive up to and enter your home. This curbside experience creates the first impression for your visitors and serves to frame the rest of their experience. Below are four ways to maximize curbside appeal as fall approaches.
1) Keep the gutters clean and clear. As fall rolls in, leaves and twigs begin to fall off the trees, onto your roof—and into your gutters. If you don’t regularly clean them out, not only will your roof be visually unattractive, but you’ll be sending a message that you don’t take great care of your home. Make sure that your gutters are spick and span before every showing!
2) Make sure the lawn looks great. Again, it’s easy for falling leaves and foliage to give your lawn an unkempt look. Colorful leaves look great on your trees—but not mixed in with your grass. Make sure you rake frequently—and also pay attention to any patches of dying grass that may appear during the fall season.
3) Add a touch of fall color. Once you have your lawn in good shape, adding a touch of fall color is a great idea. Look for fall-colored plants and foliage to bring in, in place of your summer plants. The options vary greatly depending on your location, but please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me if you’d like some ideas!
4) Add just a trace of color to the exterior of your home. You don’t want to go overboard and repaint your home—but finding a way to add a touch of fall color is valuable. This may mean painting your front door a deep red, or it could be more subtle, like a well-placed wreath. Feel free to ask if you’d like more ideas!
Curbside appeal is a very big deal when it comes to staging your home. These tips will help, but as always feel free to get in touch with any questions or comments!
