Tavistock’s Joe Lewis is Selling His Windermere Mansion—and It’s Stunning
Billionaire businessman and one of the world’s richest people, Joe Lewis is selling his Windermere mansion. He is the founder of Tavistock group, a development company known for its state-of-the-art homes and cutting-edge innovation centers. Most recently, they have led the development of popular, up-and-coming Orlando neighborhood, Lake Nona. They were the masterminds behind the Lake Nona Wave Hotel, Lake Nona Town Center, and Boxi Park to name a few. Joe Lewis is also the owner of the Premier League Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
Joe Lewis’s stunning Georgian estate is 17,229 square feet and was assembled in the 80s. The home listed at 14.95 million, easily one of the priciest homes to hit the market in Florida this year. It was inspired by the 1700’s Binfield Manor in Berkshire, England which is Lewis’ native country. It has 7 bedrooms and 10.5 bathrooms.
The six-acre property sits on a private peninsula with beautiful views of Lake Bessie, one of the Butler Chain of Lakes. The estate is located within the Isleworth Golf & Country Club between the seventh and eighth holes. Isleworth was named the nation’s top golf communities by Golf.com. Our founder, Megan Morris also lives in Isleworth and is a neighbor to Joe Lewis.
Once you pass through the home’s security gate, you’ll enter the private driveway of the Lewis mansion. It’s surrounded by lush greenery. Not only does the greenery add beauty, but it also secludes the home and offers privacy. The statue in the center with the red flowers around it creates a statement as you drive in. It’s just a taste of the grandeur it leads up to.
The Grand Entrance
As you enter the home’s foyer, you’ll see a gorgeous mahogany staircase and marble floor. A beautiful chandelier dangles from above. The design of the foyer was inspired by Kedleston Hall, an aristocratic estate near Derby, England. As you continue through the home, you’ll see interesting statues and his reputable art collection that fills the opulent estate.
The Living Room
The whole house is fit for royalty with its ornate details. The unique ceiling molds come from vintage homes in the United Kingdom. They are beautifully embellished with gold chandeliers. The grandiose fireplace originated from an 1850’s home. The bright colored furniture balances out this living room and gives it a modern edge.
The walls of the study are detailed in French-polished English walnut. Another one of the many unique features in this home is the hidden bar. It is concealed by the artwork above the study’s fireplace. There are many other features of Joe Lewis’ home that you aren’t likely to find anywhere else. For instance, the home’s primary suite has Tiffany glass that was purchased from Elton John in the ”80s.
